David and Larry are having a conversation. Larry tells David:

"You know, David, there was a time when I was three times as old as your mother. But, the next year, I was only twice her age. That is pretty interesting, isn't it?"

David looks at his father with confusion but feels that he must solve the puzzle anyways.
